Fidelis Care to Conduct Health Insurance / Open House at 6Cs - Jan. 27th
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (Jan. 15, 2010) – Fidelis Care is pleased to join with Chenango County Child Care Coordinating Council (6Cs) to help provide affordable, quality health care coverage to uninsured Chenango County residents.
Fidelis Care will conduct a health insurance open house at 6Cs, 24-26 Conkey Ave., The Eaton Center, Norwich, Wednesday, Jan. 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., to answer questions and help eligible residents apply to enroll in free or low-cost health insurance. To apply for enrollment, please bring proof of age, income and address. No appointment is necessary.
Fidelis Care offers New York State’s Child Health Plus, Family Health Plus, and Medicaid Managed Care programs. All uninsured children under 19 living in New York are eligible through Child Health Plus while adults ages 19 to 64 may qualify for low-cost health coverage through Family Health Plus. Medicaid Managed Care is for children and adults who meet certain income, resource, age, or disability requirements. Members are covered for regular checkups, preventive care, hospital and emergency care, eye exams, and more.
In December, Fidelis Care received approval from the state Department of Health and the Chenango County Department of Social Services to serve local residents through Child Health Plus, Family Health Plus, and Medicaid Managed Care programs. More than 5,400 Chenango County residents, including 900 children under age 19, lack health insurance, according to the state Department of Health.
